North shore Footbridge (later named the Infinity Bridge) is the focal point for an urban regeneration scheme linking new development on the north shore of the River Tees in Stockton, to an existing business park to the south.
We installed bespoke lighting to better show off the bridge at night. We custom designed the light art with radar sensors to detect movement, programmed to respond to people walking past by lighting up to both guide them down the walkway and to signal the approach of oncomers. LED units that light the deck are triggered to change from blue to white as people pass, leaving a ‘comet’s trail’ of light in their wake, as you can see in the video below.
