St. Paul's Place
Project:Interactive Walkway lighting
Location: Sheffield,UK
Date Completed: August 2008
Client: AC/DC Lighting
Lighting Architect/Designer:LightLab.
Lee Engineering supplied custom built and designed control circuit boards for
the foot treads of the St. Pauls Place stairway in Sheffield. Similar devices to those employed on the Infinity Bridge in Stockton where used.
However these devices were integrated into a Pharos based control system. Each radar based motion detector triggered a relay which was connected to
a Pharos RIO unit which in turn controlled various timelines within a Pharos LPC1 to cause colour change and other effects when pedestrians moved up
or down the stairs. Lighting architects LightLab chose proprietary light fittings which were embeded into the stairway foot treds and Lee Engineering
supplied all control equipmenty and programmed the system to LightLab specifications.
